Dr. Todd Samra is a dynamic speaker and writer who works to expand people's enjoyment of music by providing relevant historical and musical insights in an engaging, humorous, and accessible manner.

Todd is a frequent music lecturer along the Central Coast of California, and provides pre-concert lectures for Carmel Music Society before every performance.

An enthusiastic and popular educator, Todd teaches courses through the Osher Lifeling Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSUMB on a wide array of interesting musical subjects.

He is also an active pianist and accompanist, performing classical works, jazz, blues, and rock; and he appears as a singer, specializing in early music and chant, as well as French and English art songs. He teaches piano and voice lessons and serves as a substitute conductor and pianist for community ensembles.

Todd is a former professor of music at St. Joseph's College in Indiana, and former visiting lecturer in the music department at CSUMB. He earned his Doctor of Arts in Music degree from Ball State University, and a Master of Music from the University of Missouri.
